The Pendulum Swings
The Nostalgia Trap interviews Jacobin contributor Laura Tanenbaum on feminism, radicalism, and that Brad Pitt movie with all the punching.
Over the past few years, I’ve followed Laura Tanenbaum’s work on Jacobin, her own blog The Golden Notebooks, and as a featured player in many memorable political battles on social media. A professor of English at LaGuardia Community College in Queens, she took some time to join me for a conversation that covers topics including her youth in Chicago as the child of scientists, her decision to pursue a humanities education, her development as a feminist and radical and, of course, the social and political resonance of 1990s movies like Fight Club.
