Behavioral health care workers at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California have been on strike for more than 110 days. Kaiser is the largest HMO in the country, yet workers say persistent understaffing has left them with excessive caseloads and forced patients to wait more than four weeks for appointments. They also want to achieve parity with their colleagues in Northern California, who won reduced workloads and wait times in a ten-week 2022 strike.

December 19–24

The Teamsters launched the largest-ever US strike against Amazon late last year, with workers at seven delivery stations and fulfillment centers picketing during the pre-Christmas rush. Amazon has refused to bargain with unionized delivery drivers, whom it employs through third-party contractors. The Teamsters set a December 15 deadline for Amazon to recognize the union or face strikes — and after Amazon ignored the request, the workers kept their promise.
