Why don’t you think workers trust Democrats when they say they fight for them?

It’s forty or fifty years of failed policy, right? I think the narrative has been hijacked by corporate America even within the Democratic Party. There’s a lack of understanding about just how much working people are hurting in this economy. In labor, we have been grasping for straws for so long that even when we do win minor concessions, they don’t impact American workers as soon or as much as we would like 

 — especially nonunion workers. I think the Democratic Party is often tone-deaf when it comes to what average working people in this country are truly faced with.
