Having written your new memoir about the loss of your son Henry, do you find it’s helped you deal with your grief at all? Or is that idea of “getting it out” just psychobabble BS?
Rob Delaney
It has helped me with my grief. It hasn’t lessened it, but it was useful for me to write out the whole story of his life and death. One big thing is it made me realize how amazing his mom and his brothers have been throughout it all. That alone made it worth it. The idea that it might help others who’ve endured terrible loss is icing.

You’ve mentioned that health care is an important political issue for you. How does care under the National Health Service (NHS) compare to care in the United States, even with insurance?
