After a year of Trump’s presidency, everyone here is a little exhausted. Sure, resistance to his policies is growing, but it’s hard to make gains when we’re starting on the back foot.

That’s why we’ve been talking so much about Medicare for All. It’s one of the first bright spots in decades — we’ve moved off defense and are fighting to break new ground. If we win, we’ll push a sixth of the US economy out of the market’s reach.

The state of American health care has negatively impacted almost everyone. I’ve carried the burden of medical debt for years, and have had family members either denied care or forced to duck creditors for the rest of their lives. We’re made to feel guilty for seeking the care we need to survive. I’m sure many of you have similar stories.
