Jacobin was founded five years ago today, as an online-only publication that reached a few hundred people. We had no resources to speak of, just a political commitment to making socialist ideas accessible to as large an audience as possible.

Today we have over 10,000 print subscribers, in the last month we reached 966,013 unique visitors online, and over the past year we’ve launched 60 reading groups around the world.

We couldn’t have made it this far without the commitment of our contributors and most importantly our readers.
