Issue 60: Letters + Internet Speaks
Keeping up with our constituents.
We Did Good
I first came across Zohran Mamdani in Jacobin years ago, back when he was still a state assembly member making the case for fare-free buses and tenant protections. I followed his mayoral run through your online coverage this year — from the early profiles to election night analysis.
What stood out was how much more seriously you took the campaign than the mainstream outlets: you covered the organizing, the message discipline, and even the ideological shifts. Jacobin has somehow managed to be both a quarterly magazine that feels substantial enough to keep on the shelf and a daily record of the modern socialist movement as it actually exists.
Thank you for treating a state representative with the same attention most outlets reserve for presidential campaigns. In this case, it paid off.
